We are located in the Mountains of Valencia - Alto Turia - (Spain), in the village of Baldovar (at 923 meters altitude), from which our name Baldovar 923 originates. We started the project in 2016, moved by the idea of making quality wines in this area, which has an enormous winemaking potential due to the purity of the soils, its climatic characteristics, altitude and its autochthonous varieties. We have refurbished an old cooperativa building (built in 1958) in Baldovar that had been closed for 10 years. We own several vineyards where we produce quality grapes following ecological/ biodynamic practices. Our vines of between 20 and 80 years old grow between 900-1200m altitude, hardened by the rough climate: high altitude, cold, lack of water and a soil of clay and stone. We elaborate our wine with autochthonous yeasts - without additives - to ensure that our wine is a faithful reflection of our landscape and our culture. We use clay amphoras, 500 liter French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. Last October, we received 94 Points Decanter in one of our wines and we are the first winery in Decanter's 'Names to Know' list for DO Valencia. Currently, we have 4 wines that are having a very good reception in the market: Cañada París | Merseguera | White Merseguera and terroir Delicate, fresh and mineral. Cerro Negro | Mencía | Red The uniqueness of the Mencia of Baldovar. Aromatic depth, freshness, gourmet. Rascaña | Merseguera and Macabeo | Orange Wine Fermented with the skins Complex, balanced, and elegant. Berandía | Bobal | Red Bobal in height, spicy, fruity. Elegant and unique Baldovar 923 + 34 617 426717 firstname.lastname@example.org www.baldovar923.es
DE MOYA is a project in which we explore the vineyards of Valencia, using the local varieties. We combine the best of two worlds. History with the old vines and almost extinct grape varieties, combined with efficiency and modern wine making techniques. Our goal is to capture the essence of the beautiful mediterranean Levante area in Spain. The old vineyards provide rich, complex, and exciting wines that pair well with food. Moreover the wines are all accessibly priced. We like to call our wines “affordable luxury".
BODEGA LAS VIRTUDES
Nearly 60% of the surface area of Bodega Las Virtudes is dedicated to the indigenous variety Monastrell whom we get the most out of its properties and virtues. We also grow foreign varieties such as the atlantic Sauvignon Blanc as white grapes, or Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot as red ones. These varieties, together with our climate, sun and soil, allow us to produce intensely aromatic wines, fleshy with persistent, velvety tannins (including a BIO range). A living expression of the personality of the new Mediterranean wines. We also produce Extra Virgin Olive Oil in our own olive mill. Bodega Las Virtudes was set up in 1961 as a response to the need for small wineries and local producers to join forces. In the 70’s significant expansion took place: Oak barrels were purchased – the source of the aged sediments of our Fondillón wine today – as well as a small bottling plant and an ultra-cooling treatment equipment. In the 90’s, the commitment to quality consolidates when the technical department undertakes an extensive investment plan. Nowadays, we contribute to growth to the productive economy and we transform raw materials into prestigious products. In addition, thanks to the small farmers, our partners, a traditional farming method and our landscape are preserved that is an undeniable part of the Mediterranean iconography.
Bodegas Sierra Salinas
Vineyards with their own personality The winery is located in Sierra Salinas, hence its name, a privileged enclave bathed by landscapes of incomparable beauty. The winery is surrounded by a total of 92 hectares where almond trees, olive trees and vineyards coexist in harmony on the slopes that are located 650-680 meters above sea level. Today 52 hectares of vineyards are destined to the cultivation of the vine, of which 42 they are of grape monastrell in glass with ages of more than 30 years and 10 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon, Alicante Bouschet and Petit Verdot, planted in system of trellis and glass. It was in 2006, after five years of preparation, when the project of Bodegas Sierra Salinas became a reality with the opening by the Castaño family of a winery which is a true reflection of technology. A unique land and a privileged place are the aspects that make Bodegas Sierra Salinas one of the wineries with one of the sweetest landscapes of southeast Spain becoming in 2013 property of MGWines Group. This privileged location means that the building of the winery is a fantastic vantage point where wine lovers are enthralled by the scenic beauty of the area. Facilities born of innovation and technology: The outstanding factor of Bodegas Sierra Salinas is its process of production and the uniqueness of its building, which is designed to take advantage of the gravity of the wine racking , without the need for electric pumps. In addition, its under-room filled by French oak barrels , allows to obtain a thermal insulation , which causes the creation of very special wines.
