Located in the heart of the Medoc and near the vineyards of Moulis and Margaux, Château Meyre has been growing vines for more than 3 centuries.

Since 1876, the area has been among the very first wines of Avensan, and the ranking in 1932 gives it the Cru Bourgeois classification. This ranking was confirmed in 2003.

The property covers 17 hectares around Avensan, 30 km north of Bordeaux. In 1992, the vineyard was expanded with the acquisition of 2 hectares in Soussans, Margaux appellation.

In 2011 the Château Meyre was one of the first Organic Crus Bourgeois and has now been granted the title of Cru Bourgeois Superieur.
